"Pink eye" KO´s Zidov Akuma...
After all the talk its not Stephen Meikle but "pink eye" or conjunctivitis that knocks out Zidov Akuma...
Conjunctivitis (commonly called "pink eye" or "Madras eye" is an acute inflammation of the conjunctiva (the outermost layer of the eye and the inner surface of the eyelids), most commonly due to an allergic reaction or an infection, usually viral, but sometimes bacterial. And its just knocked out Contender Asia star Zidov Akuma.
"I am gutted. After weeks of hard training and preparation for this big 4-man Muaythai tournament, its an eye infection thats got me. After examinations today by my doctor, there is no way I am allowed to climb into the ring on thursday. Training is off, eye drops and serious medication are on.
Sorry to Stephen and to TCC promoter Bernard, who has been working very hard to make this tournament a big one for me, but what can I do. Also my reunion with Narupon and Yod will have to wait, I am really p+*!'# off about this too!"
A replacement fighter for Zidov Akuma tba.
